What is a Sustainable Enterprise?

According to UK global people development company Impact, who operate in over 50 countries from 15 offices covering Asia Pacific, the USA and Europe, a sustainable enterprise is about “creating and innovating new business strategies and activities that accelerate positive social change, protect and preserve environmental integrity, whilst enhancing business performance.”

Put simply, a sustainable enterprise is a company that knows you don’t have to sacrifice profit to make the world a better place. Sustainable enterprises are more focused, more driven, more collaborative. They attract the best people, they have strong, recognizable brands, and their customers are more loyal. And sustainable enterprises are more profitable. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index measures performance of the 10% of companies from the Dow Jones Global Index with the greatest social and environmental commitments. The DJSI has steadily outperformed the DJGI since 1994.
